Full Time Hygienist

Job Summary

Are you a passionate and dedicated dental hygienist looking for a full-time opportunity in a warm and welcoming environment? We are a thriving private dental practice located in North Austin, and we are currently seeking a skilled professional to join our team. Led by Dr. Miller, a general dentist who prides himself on building personal connections with his patients, our office aims to be the friendliest dental practice in Austin. Responsibilities

  • Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains effectively.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations to inform treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
  • Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Skills

  • Proficiency with dental software , Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation review, and medical records management.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored to pediatric patients is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards.
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care options.
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA compliance management.
  • Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review for billing purposes is a plus.

In our office, you will typically see one patient at a time, spending about 60 minutes for recall visits and 90 minutes for new patients. Your lunch break will be 30 minutes, with flexibility available depending on your needs.

To qualify for this role, ideally, you must possess at least two years of experience as a dental hygienist, and a college degree in a related field is essential.
